So I have been asking myself this question for some time now, Is there a difference in baked items especially cakes that uses, 1. Butter
2. Margarine
Is there a difference in results if one uses either to make one item i.e Vanilla cake?

I find that using butter makes my cake seem a lot richer but I donโt know whether thatโs in my head. Iโd love to hear expert opinions from others.

Its actually quite interesting that most packaging says what the product is in fine print. Some margarine have the word butter on their label but it says margarine right under it so i understand the confusion.

A little research would clear it up and recommend some true butter brands. It's a matter of preference for some people. I know for sure that most people don't even bother about the difference!

Butter every time the thinness of the of margarine and low fat messes up the consistency. It's the difference between using butter or straight vegetable oil. Butter also has a better flavor.

Butter is definitely the best option of the two, it makes the flavor better and the texture nicer. Margarine melts into an oily substance when it's baked, and leaves the batter thin and runny.

I like butter. It is not only delicious but it makes the batter divine. The fresher the butter, the better.
