MEASURING SALT

Salt is one key ingredient in any meal and food without it is unpalatable. However, too much salt and you've spoilt the food. Too little and the food has no taste. How do you measure salt to make sure it is enough and moderate ?

Honestly, I don’t think much while adding salt to any dish. I just sprinkle it assuming it will taste good! I know that’s not a tip.. but that’s how it is for me.😅

I stopped using salt all together when the kids were babies and they started eating what we had. There's enough salt already in bread and cheese etc. The first few weeks it tasted bland, then we got used to it.
Now the kids are bigger and I started using salt again, but just a little bit. The amount that fits between two fingers and then sprinkle over the dish. No exact measurements.

I don't measure salt with any tool. I just use a pinch here and there. Then I test the food to make sure it's just right. Most of the time it ends up well and people like it.

I don't like to use salt in general. There are so many other spices that I use such that frequently salt isn't needed. Or, if it is needed, I prefer to use salt-free blends.

I kind of have this thing, the proportion of area covered when I sprinkle it, which automatically makes me know whether I've added the right amount.
You can never measure the amount of salt to make it taste right.
You just know it by instinct.

I have watched my mum cook so many times and she just uses her instinct. As for me I just keep tasting and putting salt till It's okay and enough.

Throughout the years I think that I unconsciously learned to measure the salt. I just put the salt on my palm and believe it's gonna be enough.

I just guess and hope that it'll be okay.

Hahahaha! You took that right out of my mouth. I don't measure salt, I just put it in and somehow, it works almost all the time.

I just sprinkle salt according to what feels right.

If the food tastes good, great. If not, too bad.
We'll try again next time.

Definitely an unusual trick, but I don't add salt until the very end. Then I can do it to my taste.

Eying it. You'll know when you taste. I add just enough the first time, then as I add ingredients I keep tasting and also adding salt.
Or simply, if I'm mixing a lot of ingredients together, I salt them separately as I cook them moderately, then I mix them all together and also taste the final dish.
