Some people, I've heard, tend to feel stressed when they get too much sugar so you are fortunate that you don't react that way! I'm not sure why else sweets would cause you to be in a better mood or what medically or scientifically is going on in your brain to make you happier, but you are probably not the only person. I think that is why they recommend keeping candy bars or candy in emergency kits - not to keep you happy, but to keep your energy levels up so I assume it's pretty common.
I have always known this, but I have never paid so much attention to it. I think I will start keeping done candy for those times when I feel like my energy has been sapped.

I could live off sweets - carbs in general actually. I quit sugar for a couple weeks one time but I missed my sweet treats too much. You only live once!

I love reading cookbooks, watching Food Network shows, picking up culinary terms, and learning how to cook new foods. It is incredible how my culinary terminology has expanded throughout the years.

This so reminds me of the book I'm reading to review on here- Binge by Anne Pfeffer! I recommend that book even if you aren't a foodie. It is very funny and fast paced.

For the last couple of years my habit would be to walk into the kitchen every now and then, grab something sweet and that there was my meal. I realized recently that it is an awful habit and I have to change things. Thought I still love to grab on sweets whenever I can.

When I'm sad sweets sometimes make me feel better. Even finding my favorite ice-cream flavor can make my day, but then again it's the small things that seem to matter most. Even if I'm having the worst day, knowing that somethings are still good can help. Some of my comfort foods are brownies, fudge and pasta.

I love sweets anytime and all the time. LOL. I don't think it's weird to want to eat something sweet when you feel sad. Maybe subconsciously you are trying to lift your spirits with a little sweet indulgence.
