What crafty thing are you working on?

Post by Gravy »

Beings this forum now includes crafts, what crafty things are you working on?

Like many people recently, I've been busy sewing masks for my family.

I've also dabbled in countless other crafts over time, and love hearing what everyone is working on!

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.

I've been carving a tiny little wooden bowl, but I had to stop because my wood gouge broke  Hopefully I can find a new one soon. I think it's really cool that you can sew your own masks! Sewing always seemed a bit complicated to me haha

I have been working on a few different projects, sculpting small mythological critters out of a wax/oil based clay hybrid and also working on a few graphic designs inspired by bad puns (they are a terrible weakness)

I've been active working on quite a few crafts since before the quarantine - I tend to cycle through different kinds of projects. I really love mosaic tile art, I use glass and small ceramic tile. I also really love: string art, quilling, and nautical art from woodburning. I've most recently started also making and binding my own fabric journals. Sew I can appreciate sewing (see what I did there :) ) , I find sewing fun, even though it is quite time consuming.
Positively Seas the Day,

I'm making playsets out of recyclables. I did this all the time while babysitting my grands. Now I have two more little girls to do this for so I need to work faster! Doing it this way means I can have new dollhouses and play scenes frequently without having to go to the store and buy them, plus the kids can help. The older ones come up with their own ideas so it's a wonderful time.

I'm trying to make a few pencil holders out of old tins and boxes. I have too many pencils, colored pencils, and markers that are just lying around on my desk. I really need to organize them. I'm going to wrap the tins and boxes with colored paper and then decorate them with stickers. Easy-peasy!

I sewed my sister a pin cushion that looks like a blueberry. It's so cute!

I wish I had used a different color blue, but it's still adorable (and now I'm thinking about making one for myself... With a different blue  ).

I like to crochet whenever I can find the time... With my busy schedule, that's quite rare. But I still do the best I can to grab a few minutes here and there for my WIPs.

I just finished a button art of a panda bear! It had been about 2-3 years since I had worked on one. It didn't turn out quite as hoped, but being the first one in a while, I was pretty content with it and am excited to continue to make improvements with future projects. I am also working on a string art of a giraffe that will take a little more time and finesse. Fingers crossed it turns out as well as a string art elephant I did a few years back (and regrettably sold...)!

I am a very crafty person. I cross stitch, knit, scrapbook, diamond paint and paper craft all kinds of different things.
At this moment I have a diamond painting in progress. I am also making various cards and mini books for scrapbooking.
I am always in between a number of different projects.

I've recently taken up knitting as a hobby, so I've been knitting a Star Wars blanket! It's been pretty time-consuming, but a really fun project so far :D
