I am stoked to see that someone on OBC is into origami. I do modular origami quite often. I like your goal; I have been working towards that same goal How are you learning the art? I picked up Marvelous Modular Origami by Meenakshi Mukerji (2007) a while back; I have immensely enjoyed working through it.
What kind of paper do you use? I am into Repurposing things; I have made one of Toshie Takahama's Jewels (from the aforementioned book) out of candy bar wrappers. It was fun to fold, but frustrating at the same time.
