I think you have to build up a tolerance to spicy food before you can enjoy it. If you grew up with spicy food it's much easier to handle. Some people just don't like it at all. I am in the middle, I don't enjoy every meal to be spicy but a spicy wing always hits the spot.

I enjoy spicy food. Not that tounge numbing spice, but well-balanced food with a little bit of kick. Spicy food can be tasteful as long as you don't eat Carolina reaper/spicy chilies on its own.
