Fried to perfection, the plantain chips offer just enough resistance to feel satisfying before yielding to the teeth.

Plantains are awesome. I love them once they're over ripened. Best way to have them is definitely deep fried until golden and then smashed!

I love making plantains into “tostones” by frying them, smashing them down and lightly salting them for a snack with guacamole. I love plantains like this, but I’ve honestly never had them prepared any other way.

I love plantains. In my culture, we make something called turon. The plantains are wrapped in spring roll wrappers and coated with caramelized brown sugar. Then they are deep-fried until crispy.
