What is reading to you?

What is reading to you? Is it a therapy, leisure activity, refreshing exercise, a way to connect to another world, a cleansing act to know the inner self? Reading is a hobby that liberates my mind and disconnects me from the outside world. I would describe books as an ocean of knowledge which enhances all fields of life.
Reading is a raw form of self-education which is subjective in many ways, like fiction, non-fiction, scientific, comedy, drama, horror, mystical, classical, spiritual, historic, romantic, literature, fantastic, and many more. People enjoy reading in various forms such as hard copy (books, newspapers, magazines, biography, etc.) and soft copy (blogs, audio clips, etc.).Reading is a source that aids in connecting with different sorts of the world and gives us broader aspects of life. It is a dive into the role of the protagonist and the feeling of the mindfulness achieved. Reading is an act of inner engineering which is a way to increase focus and concentration.
Thank you:)

Reading to me is like entering a whole other world.. it’s like escaping your reality for a while.
It’s my favorite thing to do. It helps me think and to see things from another perspective..
When I read I immediately become one with the characters and I like to place myself in their shoes to see what I’d do in their place..
Reading opens my mind to a lot of things. It teaches way more than my teachers.

It's getting an escape from reality. I find peace in reading books and getting into the story world and just getting to forget everything for a moment.

Reading is very therapeutic to me. I feel I am wasting time when I am not busy reading.

Reading is breathing. If I don't read, I feel like I will collapse.

I have taken to knowledge as fish as taken to water. This constitutes reading. Reading is a break, an escape, an adventure, a motivation, a distraction, a comfort, a teacher.

I love this forum thread. Reading is entertainment, learning, comfort, and a wholesome way for me to get away from Tik Tok

. I feel empty when I have spent my time doodling away on mindless TV or social media viewing - whereas I feel filled and fulfilled when I read.

Just giving this a cursory response, reading is entertainment, an escape, a challenge, aform of exercise. With reading you can travel, learn, and find peace.

Reading is like therapy. It's a moment where I'm by myself focusing on something else.

A way to stimulate my brain into positive thinking pattern.
A way to travel to another world without any cost.
A healing moment.

Reading is therapeutic for me. I forgot the outside world for a while. It was like I am part of the story when I read the book. I love it.

To me, reading is fun and a way of life. You get to learn a lot of things from reading and it's very educative.

It depends on the genre. Reading can be lots of things, in my opinion, but it depends on what I'm reading. If I'm reading a fantasy novel, battling dragons, running from evil mages, or climbing up castle walls, reading is an escape. If I'm reading about how the mind works, how to keep myself healthy, or the importance of a good routine, reading is my education. If I'm learning how to talk to people, touch their hearts, understand them, or connect with them, reading is my self-improvement. Reading is my life. It's how I keep myself young and happy when all the pressure in the world is on my shoulders, it's how I grow as a person, it's how I help others. Reading is living.

Reading is my escape, my ticket to another realm where I can leave my worries behind. In those pages, I find solace and adventure, immersing myself in vibrant characters and captivating stories. It's a respite from reality, allowing me to lose myself and discover new worlds within the boundless realm of imagination.

Reading to me feels like exploring a new life. I also am a writer. I just write some short stories but they mean a lot to me. I love reading and imagining what the writer was thinking about.
