Favorite foodie novels
First, I'd like to say thank you to gali for creating these new forums. Food and books...what could be a better marriage than that?

Second, I'd like to ask everyone what is your favorite foodie novel? When I say foodie novel, think...
Chocolat
Like Water For Chocolate
Angelina's Bachelors
Any work of fiction that centers around food, really. Those that include actual recipes worked into the story are even better. Soooo...what are your favorites, and why?

Oops! I forgot to include my own favorite...I'd have to say Chocolat. The magical realism of the story reminded me of Isabel Allende's writing, and the descriptions of international chocolate that were included were very interesting to read about. The characters of the small provincial French town were believable and the courage exhibited by the heroine was inspiring. This was one I did not want to end.

This sounds right up my alley. Thanks ?HarneetB wrote:My favourite foodie novel is Meet Me at the Cupcake Cafe by Jenny Colgan. I love this book because it's so cute, it talks about the struggles the protagonist faces of not following her dream and one day she finally chases it. The book is filled with so many dessert recipes and I am excited to make some, my mouth is just watering from thinking about it. Plus it's a cute love story so this book is super super sweet

Apparently I need to search out more foodie books, because I don't really have a favorite to share.
