Ever tried food after reading about it in a novel?

Not from a novel, but from a children's book. It's called Sugar's Yummy Fall. During the book it shows Sugar learning about the change of seasons from summer to fall, and at the end she learns how to make an apple crisp. An apple crisp recipe is included at the back of the book. After reading this book to my boys we all wanted an apple crisp, so we made one for dessert that week! Very fun.

I agree. I would love to get my hands on a mug of butter beer. I have looked into recipes online but someday I want to go to universal studios and taste the original.

I never have from a novel, but we did from a children's book. When I was little we read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. After we read the book, we made green eggs and ham.

Interesting! How did it taste? Did you taste any of the food coloring?

Not from a book but from a manga. I ate ramen as soon as I found a Japanese restaurant. I also found out there are different kinds of ramen and I started going to that restaurant more just to eat each kind. My favorite is miso ramen by the way.

I made November Cakes after reading The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater -- there was a recipe in the back of the book, and they were delicious! A little involved to make, though.

Made some Ice cream after reading about it in a few novels...
An easy to make dessert if you dont want to take out your kids to joints which keep unbranded ice-creams and save them from cough and cold caused due to it. This gets ready under 9 hours and can be consumed for over 15 days after making.
Recipe Ingredients
Whipped cream - 200 gms
Fresh cream - 200 gms
Condensed milk - 100 ml
Cocoa powder - 4 tbsp
Choco syrup - 2 tbsp
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Recipe Preparation
Whip the whipped cream with a hand blender for about 10-12 minutes until sharp peaks are formed. Add the remaining ingredients.
Whip for another 2 minutes just to ensure that it all blends well together.
Spread the mixture in an airtight container evenly. Cover and keep it in the deep freezer section of the fridge for about 8 hours.
Check the consistency after 8 hours and keep it for additional hours depending on the hardness you desire from your home made chocolate ice-cream.
My Tip: I use additional castor sugar to make it extra sweet at times, just a spoon or two.

Raspberry flummery is one of my favorite desserts, and the recipe I have came from Felicity's American Girl cookbook.

There are some decent recipes on Pinterest that are very easy. The one I tried incorporated root beer and it was fantastic!

Yes, an Orange Blossom, which I first heard about in the Stoker and Holmes novel,
A Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason. The way they were describing the orange melting into the bread had my attention. I wasn't sure I would find a recipe for one, as the premise for this book took place in the Victorian era. However, I stopped at a little bakery shop before work one morning for coffee. Low and behold, they had a sugary pastry bread, golden and flaking at the edges. In the center was a carmelized orange covering the top. It tasted just as heavenly as described by Miss Holmes in one of my favorite reads.

I was reading a book where the spaghetti meal was VERY descriptive. I had not eaten all day and I actaully became so distracted by the thoughts of spaghetti and garlic toast that I had to stop reading and make some!

Yes! My husband found the recipe for butter beer in a food excerpt in a newspaper. So, of course, on Halloween we made it. Here's to Harry Potter!
