It's interesting to read about how cooking is a relaxing experience for many. Personally, I must admit that the kitchen feels like my eternal nemesis. Every journey through that room seems to end up with a new battle scar—be it a cut, a burn, or sometimes both.

Cooking, for me, is more of a necessity than a passion. It's not that I don't appreciate a good meal; it's just that the process itself feels like an adventure fraught with danger. I've got friends who find solace in the kitchen, but for me, it's a place where I constantly have to be on my guard.

That being said, there is a certain sense of accomplishment when I manage to cook a decent meal without any major mishaps. The feeling of happiness that follows is not so much about the joy of cooking but more like relief that the ordeal is finally over.

Anyone else out there who shares a love-hate relationship with the kitchen?

If someone else is in the kitchen with me, I get stressed out and anxious. When I'm alone, I feel very relaxed and enjoy myself.

Hi everyone!
I'm new here and I love reading about and how everyone has a similar experience yet with a different perception of it. Personally, I love cooking and creating and testing new recipes. My favorite ones are those that involve the "home made and handmade": everything I can, (pasta, sauces, dough) etc I make it myself .nIt's a passion for me, my own personal bubble away from the world that allows me to relax and express my creativity. That is precisely why I would never do it professionally, it would ruin the magic of the experience! I am also writing my personal recipe book a bit at a time, maybe one day when I feel like it I will share it with the world

I love cooking so much, it’s like a creative form of relaxing therapy for me. I love being able to be creative with food and make completely different dishes with the same ingredients. I’ve cooked so often for myself that it’s much more than a routine for me, it’s how I destress and become creative in other avenues too.

That depends, when I feel like cooking, I feel happy, I sing and I cook delicious 😋, but when I'm not in the mood, I cook anything just because I have to, but most of the times I feel like cooking :D

Cooking, for me, is a meditative experience. It's a time to express creativity, explore flavors, and connect with cultural roots. The rhythmic chopping and stirring create a comforting ambiance, and seeing loved ones savor my creations brings immense joy.

It will only pleasant for me when my food looks good and attracts my parents because whenever I cook it is so pathetic so that hardly any one person in my family like that.I would love cooking in my spare time.

Cooking for me is a source of joy and creativity, and gives me a sense of accomplishment as delicious aromas fill the air. It makes me feel useful and accomplished and I just love that. But it can also feel stressful sometimes, with time pressure and the worry of getting things right.
