I started cooking when I was seven. My mum made me do it because she said "No child of mine will be a bum in the kitchen".

Around age 10, I would do some cooking behind my parents' back because they didn't like me hanging around in the kitchen(I'm clumsy). But officially, I started cooking around age 10.

I was around eleven. I had been observing how things were done closely and consistently, then I followed. My mum let me do a lot of experiments prior before I could hold my own. I'm glad it worked out

Around age 13 I believe - although I still phoned my mom to my 20's when I was unsure of something. My mom passed away 5.5years ago, and I phone my grandmother now if I am unsure of one of my mom's dishes.

If you count cookies with family, then when I was as little as 4yrs old. If you mean anything besides microwave or prepackaged/takeout food, I'd say I didn't start learning until I was in my 30's to make actual recipes for myself and family.
