I don't cook with pressure cookers because I've heard so many stories of how they exploded and burnt people I prefer a gas cooker. but maybe I'll try the new version of pressure cookers.

Sure. I cook rice and lentils all the time and pressure cookers finish cooking within no time and not much effort. Also cook lamb curry in it. Comes out so tender.

Pressure cookers are very common in my country and we use them regularly. And yeah sometimes they explode if you don't use it carefully. Otherwise they are safe.

I love my pressure cooker! My biggest gripe is that things often come out too liquidy. Is there some kind of calculation that helps to work out how much the liquid in a recipe should be reduced by? (By which I mean recipes that you're adapting to the pressure cooker, not pressure cooker specific recipes.)

My grandma used a pressure cooker and it looked scary as all get out. I think the appliances of today are much safer.

As an Indian, I use a pressure cooker almost daily. Yes, I agree the new ones are much more efficient and way less noisy!
