What does everyone like to use for protein drinks/shakes? I am not one to generally drink them as I believe in eating healthy enough to cover my bases, but I am highly active and work a strenuous job where I don’t get to eat as often as I’d like. There’s a lot of info out there on powders and so forth, but I know there’s many better than others especially since it isn’t generally regulated. What are your favorites and why?

Muscle Milk because it can be mixed up many different ways. Straight chocolate is good too. It has alot less aftertaste. Vanilla powder is good for the blender with fruits added. We used the powder too for on the go stuff when we were dieting. My husband and son lost a lot of weight drinking those. Im going to get mine out and start back with it.

Not a protein powder, but on busy days I blend tofu into a fruit smoothie in the morning. I pour the smoothie into glass jars and stick them a the refrigerator, then I can shake one up and drink it for a quick lunch. They last a couple days in the fridge, they just are not as thick after they thaw. You can also make them the night before.
Example for 3 8-oz mason jars of smoothie:
Chocolate Cherry or Berry:
1/2 frozen banana
1 c frozen cherries or berries
1-2 Tbs raw cacao powder
maple syrup to taste, depending on how sweet the banana was
milk or almond milk to the 20 oz line
1/3 block tofu or large scoop of plain greek yogurt
(sometimes i stuff the rest of the blender full of spinach and add extra almond milk)

The protein powders get mixed reviews from nutritionists. Much like EllieA, I'm a fan of the smoothie.
My favorite:
Greek yogurt
Banana
Apple
Carrot
Tsp of ginger or tumeric
When I know the smoothie is taking the place of lunch, I'll add a tbsp or two of ground nuts or oatmeal for some fiber.

Good question! I wish I could help, but I'm not into protein drinks as I prefer whole foods.

Premier protein is my go to protein shake - only 160 calories, 30 g protein and only 5g carbs. Caramel / banana are my favorite

Protein drinks are bomb. Here's a favourite of mine:
1 whole frozen banana
1 1/2 scoop whey protein powder (vanilla)
1 cup ice
almond milk - as needed.
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon chia seeds
vanilla flavour
1 teaspoon nutmeg
honey (small amount)
Blend. Enjoy. It's really simple but extremely delicious.

When I was commuting, I had a protein shake every morning. I used Premier Chocolate Protein mix and added 1/2 frozen banana, 1 TBSP of peanut butter and usually either walnuts or brazil nuts. Delicious! Also, occasionally drink the Premier Protein shakes- especially the chocolate or the caramel ones. I've seen recipes the mix some of the caramel protein shakes into coffee, but I haven't yet tried it.

I'm probably doing it wrong, but any protein shake I've tried at home comes out too gritty. I'm very picky about textures of food so it's always been a no go for me.

I know very little about protein drinks I prefer to get my daily dose of protein from the food I eat. Eggs are a great source of protein.

I don't often use protein drinks, mostly just when I have a cold. There's a brand called "Bolthouse" that I like. It has tons of protein combined with various fruits, and no artificial yuck.

I use Garden of Life protein powders. They have several different varieties. I particularly like the Sport vanilla flavor.
