I do not like throwing away food so I just store it in the refrigerator to eat later.

My parents are against throwing away food and we just have to cook enough food. After years of practice you finally grasp the art. So I don't really have to deal with leftovers but if there are any, we just have to deal with eating the same food. I alao haven't got a chance to look for such books.

I have a strict no wasting food policy. I always save my leftovers for another day or time when I feel the need to eat the same food again. But for the kind of food that loses taste after being refrigerated, I try to eat it within 2 days.

Usually since many of us work late at night during dinner time we just take them to work to have the next night, otherwise we’ll see when we can’t be bothered cooking and have it then. or sometimes lunch the next day

I sometimes refrigerate my leftovers and eat them at any point I feel like it. Most times, I get creative and make something entirely different from all my leftovers

Repurpose them! If I don't want to eat anymore of a certain meal, I integrate it into something new or different. For example:
dry steak can be sliced and go into a sandwich with white cheese and carmelized onions
tomato or meat sauce can be thrown on top of a pizza or into a meatball sub
pieces of chicken can be cut up and thrown into a salad or cowboy cavier
Get creative, give the food new life :P

Eat them tomorrow! As it is only my son and I, I usually make a pot that would last us 3-4 days. So we eat from it until the pot is empty.

I usually store them safely and consume them later. If I need to heat them, then I will heat them. If the meal did not turn out the way I would have loved to, then I might as well throw them.

Mildred Tabitha wrote: 23 Apr 2018, 10:15 Sometimes we can't resist the temptation of serving more food only to end up not finishing it. It is also not a good idea to throw away food just because it is a leftover. What I do is I warm the food hours later and eat it. Sometimes I can add some little oil and spices to make the leftover food look appetizing. For example we can use margarine on some leftovers like rice or "hard porridge" to make them smell good and be appetizing.

But there are cases where you are completely not in the mood to repeat eating the same food the same day or the following day. The good news is that the food is not yet spoilt. So what do you do with all your leftovers? Can you recommend a good book that has recipes especially for remaking leftovers in to something delicious?
Are you really giving leftovers to the animals in the compound. We have little fish pond so sometimes if there is a less left over solid food I threw it in the fish from the photo of catfish is to eat it makes me happy because I know no wasting food.
