Has anyone tried digitising their recipes (from books/paper/recipe cards)?

And if so, what system do you use and why?
I'm currently planning to get rid of some cookbooks to just have less stuff. Stuff is everywhere.
I'm just scanning the odd recipe as a jpeg and putting them in a desktop folder.
This is a fairly big project I've just started and it will take a while. It is making me more aware of what's in my cookbooks. I recently acquired about 20 mostly small books which is about equal to what I had before. My first intention is to get rid of every book that does not have inspiring pictures.
