Under the Dome Series Vs Book

Have you read and watched the series of Under the Dome. It is quite interesting but I heard the series was some sort of concept spin-off, with lots of details entirely different. Those who read the books say the book is better and those who watched the series only but are aware of the plot of the book say the series adaptation is better. Has anyone seen both, what are your views?

I really liked both! I remember comparing the two but I was so hooked!
