Terrible Adaptations

Which adaptation from a book were you really excited for but were disappointed? For me, the one that really stands out is that terrible Gunslinger movie... It had nothing to do with the actual Dark Tower series! My fiance and I have been waiting for years for a movie or TV show on it to come out, and when it finally did... man were we bummed...
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” HST
