Re: Have You Watched Lucifer On Netflix Yet?

I felt like I should give a better idea of what I meant by the show being different.

In the comic, despite it being titled Lucifer, you sometimes go several pages without him being there. It always circles back to him or relates to him somehow. Like the story about a centaur woman living in Lucifer's universe. But he's not a near constant presence like in the show.

Lucifer is mysterious and distant in the comic. His closest relationships are Mazikeen and Elaine. He and Mazikeen are the most similar the comic feels to the show. Elaine is his niece and eventually feels like his adopted daughter. She's not in the show at all but is likely the inspiration for one or more of the show's characters. While Lucifer gets attached to Elaine in the comic, it happens in a subtle way, leaving it ambiguous exactly how much he cares for her.

The angels, demons, and God are more humanized in the show. This stems from their friendships and romantic relationships. Lucifer himself has very little romance in the comic. Instead, the show has a lot of mythological conflicts. Two of the notable ones are with Izanami, a Japanese goddess, and the Basanos. The Basanos is the most original creation of the comic. It's the living spirit of the Tarot cards. They are an extremely powerful entity.

If you like the show, the main reason to consider the comic is the large number of characters not in the show and how unique it is compared to the show.

I loved this show! But I think since Netflix picked it up, it's gotten worse :(. It's just quite cheesy and the plot lines aren't even interesting anymore. I stopped watching after season 5.

The show is gripping, to say the least. The first 4 seasons and the first half of season 5 are amazing. The latter half of season 5 and the final season have a steep drop in quality. Nevertheless, it is an amazing show with witty humor, a great storyline, and captivating characters.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of the show. I love the banter between Lucifer and Chloe and the tension between them. I also find Lucifer hilarious!

I have seen bits and pieces of it and I also know there's this sapphic character that I would love to see more of but I just haven't been able to properly sit down and watch actual episodes :(

I've been seeing things about it for years but never watched it. I'm going to add it to the list of series I should watch.
