Re: Harry Potter TV Series

I think when fans wanted the TV series they were thinking in about 20 years. I think people are a bit disappointed that they're making it so soon and it feels like the series is being milked for what it's worth and that sucks the joy out of it.
As well as all the controversial things the author says. It's very hard to keep watching Harrry Potter being talked about in negatives and feel joy about it.

I feel this too. I don't know if it's me fighting the flow of time, and refusing to believe that I am getting older, but...the Harry Potter film series just doesn't feel that old yet to me, that it already needs another cinematic reinvention.

I think, one of the cast members said it best "If I want to watch Harry Potter, there already is a movie series."

It's like how they keep making Batman movies every year. Like seriously, give the IP a rest.
The Harry Potter movie series was already perfectly cast, and the people who grew up watching it, are all relatively young...most of us are only just now hitting out 30s.
Reading is my fix.

I think a TV series would be good for the younger generation who missed watching them as movies growing up like us. Personally I loved the books more then the movies and then the movies kind of grow on you , so hopefully the TV series too with the right casting and execution.
Reading is like opening a door to another world :techie-studyinggray: :techie-reference:

Whether it's Harry Potter or any other literary character, I have to say it's a great idea to see people at least trying to turn those words into scenes. It's great to see a five-hundred-page book turned into a TV series watched by every fifth person in every household in the world. I think modern life will be different.

I really love Harry Potter. I can't believe that J.K. Rowling was able to create such an intricate world. The descriptions of all the characters, the spells, the whole storyline was amazing. I think the movies were great given the information they were able to deliver. I'm not sure about the TV series. I may check it out, but without the original characters I just feel like it won't even compare. Part of falling in love with the books was the consistency of the characters in the movies. I always feel like it totally ruins the movie or TV show adaptation if the characters do not remain the same people.

I completely understand what you’re saying. I agree, it’ll be hard to get used to someone else playing those characters when we’ve grown up with the movies and gotten used to seeing those people in those roles. It would be interesting if they used some of the original actors in the new show, like the people who played kids could play professors.

I don't know if I can imagine new actors reprising the roles. The books and movies always have my heart. I don't think I would be interested in watching a TV series. Kids who haven't watched Harry Potter movies or read the books might find the TV series interesting because they will not have preconceived notions.

Honestly, I think the series has potential to do well! There are so many scenes and whole characters they didn't add in the movies, so I hope they pay attention and do the books justice this time.
