For any book/movie franchise, I always read the book first because I know that half the things that happen in the book won't be in the movie so I like to make up my own scenes in my head then watch the movie:)

Not always. My decision would not be binding. It depends on the individual stories whether the movies display it better or the books.

I always prefer to read the book than the movie because I usually find my imagination better than the movie.

If there’s a book that has been made into a movie I always read the book first. I’ve done that since my dad bought me the first Harry Potter book. I would read the book and afterwards the whole family would watch the movie with me.

The book opens your imagination as you're trying to project the words into reality. Movies already that for you (think for you). Most of all are visuals and we don't care about that. I'd have to say overall reading is better for us, but the movie industry would say otherwise!

I definitely think that books are by far better than the movies in terms of details because in most movies they cut out a lot of details from the book. However, I love to watch the movies and then read the books because then I can visualize it while I'm reading and see what the differences are.

I've never been a movie person, so I always go for the book rather than the movie.

I prefer movies to books for sometimes I missed some plausible parts while reading because of boredom. In dichotomy, watching movies gives me life, and invigorated my mood. It's always the excitement that movies brought to me rather than reading books.

Yes, I will always prefer a book over a movie, if I have time to read it. Otherwise I will surely watch the movie.

This is pretty hard to choose because with the book you get to read all the details but with the movie you get to actually see the emotions on the characters face. I'm indecisive with this one :|

I prefer the books any day simply because when I read I end up seeing a movie of the story from my perspective and when I watch the actual movies I feel VERY dissatisfied.

Read the book first, then watch the movie. Why can't we have both? I enjoy watching my favourite characters from the book being brought to life. I also keenly observe the parts from the book that has been left out in the movie adaptation.

Movies are easy and demand less concentration and input, but books suck you in and you experience things completely. I prefer a movie when i'm tired, but a book when i want my senses to be ignited and lit up.

Most certainly the book!
I found my first influx of disgust with books being turned into movies with Dan Brown's Inferno. The movie went well, until the ending of the movie entirely ruined the the essence of the book. As in completely ruined it. The movie makers opted for the classic Hollywood ending and I felt that the books ending was complete defaced. It really enraged me to the point where I refuse to watch movies of books I have read.
