I’m a fan of doing both either way. I did the Harry Potter movies before I read the book. Same thing with Game of Thrones

It depends on the situation, but I usually prefer to read the book before watching the movie. I like diving into the original story first, getting all the details, character thoughts, and depth that often get left out of the film adaptation. It feels like experiencing the story more fully.

Both. Sometimes, I'm not aware there is a book or a movie, so I will either read the book or watch the movie if I liked the book or the movie enough. I found that if I loved the book, I will be very critical of the movie and most likely will find that there are things that are being left out, whereas if I watched the movie first, the book usually feels more complementary.

I prefer reading the book before watching the movie. Well at times, I feel that watching the movie first and then the book has been preferable nowadays according to me as it saves me from the disappointment of discovering the missing parts in movies or at times the storyline differs from the original novel which annoys a lot!
Reading the book and watching the movie both give different joys btw.
So yeah, mostly I do prefer just reading books/novels and movies that aren't based on any books/ novels. No annoyance, no disappointments!
