What I have more of an issue with is altering characters, relationships, or the plot itself, to the point it no longer carries the same meaning or emotion. An example could be a drama where the director decided the couple don't end up together although they did in the novel. Sometimes studios use the name of a book for its popularity while not really being a fan of the book or caring to represent it.

Totally agree to this!WriterBLAlley wrote: ↑25 Apr 2014, 19:22 I disagree.
A: The movie does not affect the book in any way (Except when some marketing genius changes the book title to the movie title)
B: Movies are good at giving books exposure they would otherwise not receive.

Someone had a quote once that stated readers love the books more because they get the privilege of creating the atmosphere and characters in their minds from the reading. Movies are made from one persons's point of view and ruins that image that was created from the book. I think that's why readers hate the movie. You simply can't recreate everything that was written.bebby_the_booker wrote: ↑25 Apr 2014, 14:40 I actually can't stand in when books are made into films, I love books for the reason that I can make the people look however I like and the landscape and everything I don't like that someone else tries to decide how I see the story....does anyone feel the same way?

If the variations can be kept to a minimum they should be turned into movies or tv series so that people who don’t enjoy reading can still enjoy the stories!
