Hedwig and the Angry Inch, 10/10. It's not the last movie I saw, but I've just about got it memorized.

I watched the movie 'A Secret' (Un Secret) directed by Claude Miller last night & I wonder has anyone else here watched it?

IMO it's a truly extraordinary piece of work, beautifully filmed and a most disturbing story & I just can't stop thinking about it. Without saying too much it's broadly a Holocaust movie but as it moves back and forth from the '50's to the 30's it has made me think in a way I never did before about the price paid by survivors and the enduring pain that travels down the generations.
It's apparently based on a novel by Philippe Grimbert & I will be on Amazon seeking that book tonight.

I know a lot of people don't like subtitles movies but believe me this one is well worth the bit of effort. I highly recommend it 10/10

I recently saw Little Ashes, it's about Salvador Dali's relationship with poet Frederico Garcia during the whole fascist thing in Spain and how difficult it was to even admit to yourself about being gay let alone expressing them. 7/10.

I've seen Factotum on the basis of Charles Bukowski's novel and I give it 8/10. I think it could be nice to read.

Bukowski is one of my favorite authors/poets Matt Dillon did a good job of portraying Chinanski but he's too good looking for the part.

I liked Hedwig and the angry inch as well!! The music in it was great and I thought the ending was excellent.

Recently watched Black Swan..probably going to get bashed but I didn't like it at all!! I expected way to much from it I think. I hate when they build movies up so much that you expect to be blown away. And then you are sorely dissappointed!!

Let the Right One In, its the original Swedish movie about a young boy who befriends the new girl next door who happens to be a vampire, Hollywood made a remake last year called Let me In.

Its touching in places and a very raw and gritty film, but its also very slow and a little dragged out in places. Good but not great, 6 out of 10.

Went to see "The King's Speech" this past week. A most EXCELLENT movie ... Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are both nominated for Oscars as well they should be. The movie is funny, touching, and sad ... I cried at the end for not only George VI, but also for the world history in the making.

PS: I'm now very interested in learning more about the *love story* between George VI (Bertie) and the beloved Queen Mum.
