Belle was my first princess to really love, Beauty and the Beast are probably one of my favorite love stories; she was just so bright and caring and beautiful on the inside - and the dress is a killer!
Then there's Tiana of course, the first princess to look like me and not only look like me but have so much in common it was like looking in the mirror! We are both from New Orleans, have big dreams, love to cook, are no-nonsense with arrogant men, and her dress is my favorite color. I've even been told that would like her, but with a lighter accent.
Then there is of course the often forgotten Kida from Atlantis. She eventual becomes queen, but throughout the film, she was a princess and played an important role in her kingdom. I think she was the only princess that I can remember who didn't run away from responsibilities or marry into them. Like, we can see her putting her people first time and time again, their well-being is her first concern, and yet she balances it with her personal wants (love and exploration). She was just so proud of her culture and I love that about her. And yes the outfit was amazing!
