You are so right, Eragon was pretty horrible, though the book series took a dive in the later half as well, in my opinion. I don't think I've seen Percy Jackson though.

The most disappointing movie adaptation had to be Twilight. I was expecting a little more from the Bella character. The funny thing is the Scary Movie Bella was better than the Twilight Bella. Go figure.

Yeah, I walked out of the theater half an hour into Twilight. I couldn't believe how uninspired her acting was. :o

Interview with a vampire was terrible compared to the brilliant Ann Rice novel. On the flipside, The Thirty Nine Steps is a much better film than the John Buchan book

I remember walking out of the screening of Eragon just really disappointed. I felt they got so much basic stuff wrong - my only like was Jeremy Irons as Brom, who I thought was great. Ed Speelers and Sienna Guillory were, unfortunately, just not right for the parts of Eragon and Arya.

I have one thing to say. Percy freaking Jackson! How it is possible to mess up a movie that badly I have no idea. Especially 'The Sea of Monsters' I hated the movie so much, it wasn't anything like the book at all! I was so disappointed...

For me the most disappointing book to movie adaptation was Eragon. Eragon had such a potential to be an epic movie (like The Lord of the Rings), but it fell flat in many ways. The characters weren't given enough development and they didn't give enough effort to engage the audience in the plot.

Ahhh so many terrible movie adaptations. The most recent one that comes to mind is Insurgent. I was really disappointed how that turned out since it seemed that they had done Divergent so well. Hopefully, the get it right for Allegiant. Some other ones of note are: Twilight, Percy Jackson, Mortal Instruments (this one breaks my heart because I was so excited to see one of my favorite series turned into a movie :( but lets hope for some improvement when the tv series comes out! :))

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was so disappointing. :(

The Mortal Instruments and, worst of all, Eragon. I was so completely disappointed by the Eragon movie within the first fifteen minutes that I cried and turned it off.

The Maze Runner. I loved the book but the movie adaption ruined me. :( It had the scenes and even some of the characters wrong. The Percy Jackson movies also ruined me. (I don't have much luck with movie adaptions to my favorite books)

'Gone with the Wind'. I know that many people love this movie but I couldn't enjoy it. In my opinion it's horrible! The acting is not natural and it doesn't encourage me. The story is beautiful but this movie broke it.

Aybige, I hate that movie too. Pure boredom. I agree, the acting is a bit hammy. Worth making fun of, for sure. I've read the book as well, and it was a little dull, but more palatable.
