Dub or sub

I definitely prefer subtitles over dubbing because there is something about dubbed movies or dramas that just don’t go with the actor. If you have once heard their real voice it’s really difficult to adjust to the dubbed voice and their voices and their lip movement is completely off key. And also when you watch a drama or a movie in their native language the characters feel more personal and close to you. I love that feeling because it greatly helps in having the after movie/drama discussions. You can also just sit by yourself and steep in it.

It is not the mismatching of the lips that annoys me, but I moreover feel like the voice from the original language generally matches the character more, as the producers made it that way. Regardless of the language, I prefer to watch with well-translated subtitles.

I normally watch sub, because I feel like the voice acting of the original language is much better and more sincere than the dub.

I'm fine with either one, you miss out on a lot of film experiences and voice acting by ignoring sub. But sometimes, its nice to know the I can just enjoy the show/films with out text.

If I'm watching it by myself, I definitely prefer subbed, but if I happen to be with someone else, it's easier to watch it dubbed to compensate for any conversation that will inevitably happen in the background.

I know some people consider preferring subtitles is elitist but it's true for me! Especially in anime, the dubbed voices for some girl characters can be sickeningly sweet and childish.

I'm all for subtitles. I love hearing the original voice of the actor because I believe it's an integral part of the character s/he's playing.

Subbed is better than dubbed. When the movie is dubbed, the way the actor/actress talks doesn't match the speaking voice which ruins the experience.

I prefer subs all the way, I find it a little annoying when the lips don't match the audio. That said I grew up watching Disney movies in Spanish so I cant enjoy them any other way.

Subbed! The movies or series feels different when it's dubbed. I like to hear the original voice.

I prefer subs. I usually watch movies in English, which isn't my first language, and although I understand it, it's easier for me to follow the dialogue if there are subtitles. There are some movies that I can only watch when they are dubbed though, like animated movies, but that's mostly because I grew up watching them in Spanish.

Subtitles always. if I am watching anything that is no in my first language I always put the subtitle option on. the reason why I like to include the subtitles, even in dramas, movies, or cartoons with language I don't understand, its because I like to listen to their original voice and open an opportunity to learn new phrases or start to learn a new language.
