I prefer subtitles. A lot of meaning can be lost in translation while trying to fit a sentence into mouth movement/animation. When watching anime, it is natural to turn on the subtitle version. There are very few exceptions where I will watch the dubbed version. On a positive note, watching anime and movies with subtitles has helped improve my reading speed over the years.

I prefer dub if the dub is great and not awkward.

I grew up with a lot of anime that was censored when it was dubbed. Nowadays, most dubs don't go crazy with the censorship, but because of it I prefer watching with subtitles if only to watch it unedited for western audiences. I don't have a problem watching dubs though if I was with a friend who preferred it over subs. Both of them each bring something unigue to the show overall.

I would say movie with subtitles are much more better than dubbed movie. Because I personally think it's better to listen their original voice and I could learn some new words in other languages 😁😉.

I like both. Dubbed movies when I cannot find my glasses or multitasking. Subtitles when I know some of the original language of the movie/show.

Subtitles definitely. I just like hearing the way people's language roll on their tongues when they speak their own dialect. Because at times with dub, the reactions or emotions do not even correspond with what is being said. It makes the movie lose its originality.

I don't mind some dubbed animated series or movies. However, Dubbed movies are a little awkward since I can see the person really mouth something completely different. So I much prefer subtitled movies if it has real people in them.

I prefer subbed. Sometimes the voice actor cannot portray what the original actor felt when he said his lines and translations in dubbed is sometimes off.

Well, depence. My mother taunge is greek but I hate greek subs on english audio. I really like the korean and japanese launguage so I would never see a dubbed movie, but for example German really confuse me so subtitles probably wouldn't be enough for me, I would prefer the dubbed version.

I prefer subtitles over a movie being dubbed. If a movie has subtitles it does not take away from the cultural atmosphere of the movie. If it is dubbed it loses a certain cultural aspect of the movie and forces it to become part of another culture just so others can understand it.

For me it kind of depends on the anime or how well the dub is, for example I prefer the English dub of Cowboy Bebop or Big O over the sub, however I prefer to watch of anime like Lupin III, One Piece, Studio Ghibli films...etc

Hello! I prefer subtitles than dubbed shows. I don't know but I understand it more and clearly if I was able to read the subtitles. I guess I'm a better reader than listener. I hope that's not a bad thing 😅
Stay safe! Sending hugs
