From most movies I've watched, I've definitely preferred subtitles. There's something about dubbed movies with their lips moving and the sound not quite matching that gets under my skin. I'm a huge anime fan and I refuse to watch movies that are dubbed over in English. I feel like you also lose some of the effect of the movie if it is dubbed over in another language.

I mostly prefer subtitles over dubbed versions of movies and animes, but if I'm doing something while watching then I'll watch the dubbed version so I don't miss something they're saying. Generally, though, I always watch subbed versions. My boyfriend, though, prefers the dubbed versions because he says in anime he feels like he's missing the beauty of it if he keeps having to stare at the bottom of the screen in order to know what's happening.

I prefer dub because I don't like reading the screen. There are some animes I will watch both versions and compare the two. I do have to admit subbing tends to have a better translation.

These days I watched subbed movies much more as I'm learning Chinese. My teacher told us to practice not watching with English subs, but with the Chinese ones. It's really helpful. However, when I watch anime, I don't mind either.

I definitely prefer subs. I may have liked watching dubbed movies back when I was a kid, but now that I'm older, I don't feel that way anymore. Also, the movies or dramas with their original voices are a lot more authentic and enjoyable to watch for me even though I'd have to look at the screen the whole time.

Subs, I think. There's something about dubs that feel off to me, unless it's an especially well done anime. You can also tell when the language isn't similar and it gets distracting.

I prefer subtitled. I believe the tone of voice and even type of voice chosen for each character is part of the artistry, and you take that away when you dub. Most of the time it comes out sounding comical anyway.

I would definitely say that subbed is better than dubbed, unless the movie is just for some background noise.
