Re: Romantic movies
I personally trend towards When Harry Met Sally, Sabrina (Audrey Hepburn, no question), How to Steal a Million, Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightley version), The Mummy (may just love Rachel Weisz), Runaway Bride...the list goes on and on!
I really want to mention, though, that my reason for adoring the Kiera Knightley version is that the actors bring such an authenticity to the scenes of daily life. I like that all the girls talk over one another, or Mary is whining in a corner while Lydia is running 100 mph.
While I adore the novel, and would never put a book before a movie, this sort of detail isn't really captured by Austen - at least, not as vividly as I think the actors depict it. It adds a level of comfort and familiarity to a film that often feels stiff or forced with other actors.

But modern movies like "To all the boys I've met before" (great book series by Jenny Han) are also pretty good. Nothing better than a bit of rom-com on a down day.

People who read are hiders. They hide who they are. People who hide don't always like who they are.

Speaking of K-dramas, a few days back I saw a K-drama which should be perfectly engaging for any romance addict, 'Romance is a Bonus Book'. Apart from highly enjoyable romance-comedy, it also features our favorite subject, books.Felicity Granger wrote: ↑08 Sep 2019, 13:25 I love romantic films and not just those in English. I love K-dramas and Chinese movies and series. These are my top five favourites:
Me Before You
Eternal Love - (Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms)
Goblin
The Notebook
Dirty Dancing
