The much-awaited return of Guy Ritchie to his crime caper era. It is by no means a "Snatch" or "Rockn'Rolla" but it holds its own for sure. It was refreshing to watch Guy Ritchie do his impressive-cast-crime-comedy thing again. There seems to be a lot more restraint in his directing style (read: no fast cuts). Great soundtrack and cool men in fashionable outfits. Usual Guy Ritchie fare.
I am not a Colin Farrell fan but I think he was the most fun character to watch. Matthew McConaughey was his usual Matthew McConaughey self, which is always great.
I think its a fun movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. I can see how it could seem to some like a shadow of the genre-defining movies that Guy Ritchie put out with movies like Lock-Stock and Snatch. The story was pretty linear with some twists and a few meta moments.
I am still waiting for the "Real Rockn'Rolla".
I'd give it a solid 3.7/5
