The Magicians, 2 seasons into the series and then I relised it was a book first. Like most TV adaptations of books, the novel was better. Especially the end.

I have just watched What Dreams May Come, a 1998 movie with Robin Williams. Reading the Wikipedia page, I found out it was a book.

The movie is so wonderfully visual, I am almost afraid of reading the book, because that fascinating experience won't be replicated (except in my imagination).

But I am definitely considering giving it a go, I loved the movie.

I recently watched the TV show on Netflix "The Letter for the King" when I realized it was based of a book by Tonke Dragt. I also found out that the movie "All the Bright Places" was a book first too! I can't wait to read them and I highly recommend watching them both! :D

The movie and book were so different, that when I read the book, I don't think I was able to enjoy it as much as I wanted to because some things were spoiled, characters were described differently, situations happened differently, and I was just confused half the time. That's why I usually wait until I've read the book to see the movie, because once you see the movie, you can't unsee it.
I had no idea that Warm Bodies was a book first!

Yeah, I was definitely surprised when I saw it on Goodreads. I was thinking, "Um, excuse me? Why didn't I know this before?" But, I guess do your research. :techie-reference:

How to Train Your Dragon! After watching the movie I found a book by the same name. Turns out that while they followed similar ideas and clearly the movie was based on the world the book created, the stories were different enough that I could enjoy both!

I watched the whole Chronicles of Narnia series on film, only to realize that it was a book series in the end. I wish that I had read it first to see if they had excluded any vital parts and details!

The movie "Bridge to Terebethia" and "Chronicles of Narnia". I never realised they were books first. I came to know about them after a few months when I was searching up for books to read.
Also, the series Famous in Love. I never knew it was a book. I missed its last season so I searched it up and found out that it is a book. I downloaded it and read it only to disappoint myself because the series was far better and different than the book.

So many of the best movies were books first and I distinctly remember my shock when I learned that Die Hard was a book first.

Same on Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and The Princess Bride. I had no clue about their books until later!
