I watched the Netflix series, but had no idea it was a book series until I saw it through Netflix. Has anyone read the books? How are they in comparison if you've seen the show? I am waiting on the book through my library.

Just started watching this on Netflix. Literally, I just saw episode-one yesterday. I have no opinion on the show yet. I will need to watch a few more episodes to see if I'm hooked. My friends are into it. Anyway, I didn't know it was a book series but I imagine it would make for interesting reading!

I have not personally read the books but I have been told by friends that they are fantastic and there are so many in the series to satisfy you while you wait for season two.

Yes, there are 8 books. Each book is about another Bridgeton sibling. I'm on the 5th book now. They're good if you like to read historical romance. Book 1 focused exclusively on Daphne and Simon, where in the tv show they added some more material to show more of the side characters who will eventually become main characters if the show reaches their season/book.

I have read the first two books years ago and recently watched three episodes in Netflix. From the little I saw, I would say both the show and the books are similar. Personally, I cannot agree with the overall good ratings and reviews that Bridgerton received, the story felt lacking of any substance.

I saw Bridgerton. I guess it somewhat was entertaining. I mean Shonda Grimes has a weird way of presenting series. I feel like if we were to analyze her catalogue in 10 years, we would ask who gave that woman a job in showbizz.

i thought it was romantic and funny at times. the story sucks you in, and for a historical series, it was quite interesting.

Good for cringe watch but not really a serious, important watch.
