I think "The Hidden City of Chelldrah-ham" series by Stephan von Clinkerhoffen would make excellent movies, starting with "Stig's Flight of Encounters". Some books lend themselves more to this than others.

I do think that its becoming a crutch in the movie business though. Movies based on books, sequels, remakes...it's all becoming repetitive in the movie industry. Original ideas seem to be a novelty in Hollywood.
