I don't keep a journal but I have a pretty good idea of what I have and haven't seen.

Absolutely, but only within the past year. I keep track of each movie and TV series I watch, rate them, and write a small review for myself on what I did and didn't like about that movie. This helps me keep track of great movies that are worth re-watching.

Yes I have kept a diary where I have written the time and date for a particular movie I have watched.

Yes !!
After watching each movie I will write its name my favorite character in it (if any) and list some points ( dialogues & my views) which I would like to remember
When I look back I see those characters moving in front of me

no I don't. If I did, I don't think there's a list long enough to contain all the movies that I have watched lol.

I keep a journal of all the books I have read, but I do not keep track of movies. I do however, keep all the movie tickets I get when I go see a movie in theaters. I do this often, so I guess that is one form of movie tracking. I mostly keep the tickets to remember the good times I had when going to the theater.

Not on movies no...that would be a long list! But books I do keep a journal with a 1-2pg summary/review of each book and the month/year of reading

I keep track of all the TV shows I've watched and what episode I'm on in a useful app called TV Time. Recently they added movies to the app and I've started to keep track of them too. I find it much more necessary with shows, so I always know where I'm at if I want to return to a show after a break, but it's nice to have a list of movies I've seen too.
