Any thoughts on 'House of Dragons'?

I've just started the GoT spin-off and I am not entirely convinced the series will live up to the hype of GoT. Any thoughts?

I enjoyed Game of Thrones a lot. The spin off series is very interesting. I'm about to watch the 10th episode of the House of Dragon. The acting was very magnificent.

I feel the House of dragons will deliver just as Game of thrones did.

House of the dragons was on at virtually the same time as Rings of Power. I found myself and my friends who watched both comparing the two. I went in with really high expectations for HoD and low for RoP. Surprisingly the more it went the more I enjoyed RoP over HoD. I really did not like the time jumpin between episodes in HoD, I found it difficult to relate to the new actors and feel like they had missed out on so much character development in doing so. I had no empathy or understanding for why characters were doing what they were doing and their motivations. Also the fact that Matt Smith's character did not appear to age at all compared to his brother was very confusing for me. The final dragon battle was however visually very pleasing and a pleasant twist/surprise.

All in all I'd rate it 6.5 out of 10 and if it was not linked to GoT I'm not sure I would have continued to watch it in the same way.

And bought our pretty crowns, but never paid the price
Find me in the river, find me there
Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

Didn’t care for it at first, but it was actually really good

It is a sequel to game of thrones and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed watching this series. It follows in the footsteps of game of thrones.
