Was anyone else extremely disappointed with the film Water for Elephants compared to the book?
I read the book and watched the film immediately after so the book was very fresh. I was so surprised at how little detailed the film was and how they completely cut out one of the main characters! Anyone else feel similar?

Yes, I was also very disappointed. The movie was very poor. It lacked quality and was below par compared to the book. I was very surprised they let it air.

The film not worth the hype but the book worth it. I think is poor directing and acting.

a book will always, ALWAYS, be superior to its movie adaptation. Quote me anywhere. And yes, i was disappointed.

In the beginning of the novel, Jacob mocks another nursing home resident who claims to have worked in the circus and carried the water for the elephants. The circus train only had a limited amount of water on board.

I definitely expected way more from the movie as well.
