Hmm I don't really get into horror movies too much, but I love Stephen King books (in addition to other horror books) - too many jump scares

Sometimes my imagination will be scarier than what I would watch in a movie.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” HST

For the comedic factor, I prefer horror movies. Most of the time the reactions of the actors are so ridiculous and the story so absurd it's more of macabre comedy than actually scary. Whenever I want to be truly scared I read a well-written thriller novel. Reading about the character's fear tends to be a whole lot scarier than seeing the monster or antagonist itself.

Horror book :(( at least my imagination can change it that it won't seem like such a horror story unlike when its a movie. It's difficult to erase from my mind

I think the two have their own individualistic qualities. Horror books scare with their choice of words and narratives, while horror films scare with their visuals and scenic details.

Dislike both.
Imagine if we had no secrets, no respite from the truth. What if everything was laid bare the moment, we introduced ourselves?

I prefer a good horror movie over a horror book because the movie allows me to see the fear and to me, the visuals are much more effective in the movie.

Yes, I do believe this too. What you watch can be much more dramatic than what can be imagined. Yes, especially, the ghosts and the look on the actor's face when danger is near.

I find horror books really boring. I don't get scared at all. Horror movies, on the other hand, make me scared to fall asleep at night, and that's the whole point, isn't it.

Horror movie is my favorite by far. Mainly because it’s over in a few hours.

Is it just me or the horror movies we are getting to see now are quite boring and skippable ?
But for me, its always going to be a horror book over a movie. The emotions you get to feel while reading one can't be really felt while watching a movie or its always the half of it.

I prefer to read horror books because I'm too weak to see a jump scare

Horror is better in visuals. Book won't have the same impact as the eerie music, expressions of the characters and the jump sacres. Movies elevate the impact of the horror. I usually prefer books but this is one dynsmic where movies win hands down.
