I think Marvel is better no question. Besides Wonder Woman and the Batman movies with Christian Bale, I think DC makes terrible films. Marvel movies make much more sense and look cooler. I will always love Batman, but the newest movies have been trash. Plot and motivation matter even more than stuff blowing up.

Marvel definitely; there's more humour in it and the effects feel more realistic.

Kathryn Price wrote: 15 Jan 2018, 23:38 I was surprised there wasn't a topic about this already. Which comic book movies do you like better, Marvel or DC? Why or why not? Do you read comics? Which movies of your chosen category do you think were done best or worst?

My personal pick is Marvel all the way. Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy wasn't bad, but I hated Batman vs Superman and I haven't seen Wonder Woman or Justice League. I have not read comics before, but I am thinking about getting into them because I like Marvel's characters so much. My favorite Marvel movies are The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War. However, I think Thor: Ragnarok was terrible and shouldn't have been made as a comedy.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with me?
I love marvel more, maybe because I'm one big fan captain America

How about the characters of DC with the making of Marvel? That would be awesome.

I will always choose DC, maybe its the blatant idea that all of the heroes are easily flawed, and that the villains are misunderstood. This could be said for Marvel as well, but DC (being detective comics of course) is pure grunge and angst. I really like how dark the stories are. Which is the same reason DC "loses" in the movies. There is nothing that draws the audience in positively on a screen. This is my opinion of course. :D

I definitely agree with you, Marvel all the way. The way Marvel creates beautiful motion pictures and witty script is a joy to watch. I started to read the comics after I watched all of the movies in the MCU. They are entertaining.

I think both companies have done well. It won't do justice to start picking one over the other. Both have produced blockbuster comics over the years too

marvel seems to be a little more childish yet the movies have been well executed so they win always. DC on the other hand has so many good characters but poorly executed movies so they always lose. sorry.

Marvel was able to create more of a story and include all of the characters. DC has great superheroes, but the movies had trouble combing them all into one.

I'm a Marvel Fan through and through but I loved Aquaman so maybe the DC movies are going in the right direction...
My favourite example is Batman vs. Superman, which was really bad in my opinion, compared to Captain America Civil War, which was really good.
Comic wise I'm not really reading any at all exept for some random copies I get from my uncle so I cannot really say anything about those.

Marvel without a doubt. I don't really read comic books, but Marvel's characters feel a lot more original, fun and creative. Just better made all around. And DC stories don't keep you interested at all times, plus the actions of the characters don't make sense sometimes, so yeah.

LOVE this question.
It would have to be Marvel 100% for me.
I love how this question is so relevant to my life now. Currently, my sisters and I are watching all of Marvel's Avenger movies in chronological order and so this is amazing.

Marvel has made more consistently well made movies, but DC has the better comics, animated movies, and TV shows. Both comics are awesome, but I am a DC girl.
