I am in search of opinions about movies that are better than the book they are based on!

Being There and Dances With Wolves are the first that come to mind.

Harry Potter 5 ( Order if the Phoenix ) was my least favorite book but my favorite movie. In the book it’s chapter after chapter of Harry whining and sniping. It the movie, they sum up all his angst in one line: “I just feel so angry all the time.” Plus Luna is the best in this movie. “I hope there’s pudding.”

Forest Gump was a comedy drama movie acted by Tom Hanks,which won an award."Mama always said that life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get."I always remember this quote.

I haven't seen any movie that I liked more than it's book version. I would really like to know if anyone has any recommendation for such a film because I'm still searching.

I don't know if you are interested, but there is a film called The Last Valentine. I loved the movie, it stars Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The script was beautifully written. I found the book at a local book store and I figured the book would be even better than the movie. Well, it wasn't. I wasn't even able to get past the first few chapters of the book.

I agree that it is kind of hard to find a book-to-movie adaption that is better than the book itself.
We have to keep in mind that a movie cannot be an exact copy of the book.This is affected by many factors, starting with the fact that the movie cannot be as long as the book, and the writers want to add their own twist to the movies.I know it can be hard to watch the movie without judging it and comparing it to the book but I believe that we should look at a movie and judge it as a separate thing,like it is not based off the books.
Speaking from personal experience, it makes it easier for you to enjoy the movie when you stop comparing it to the books
But one of the movies that I enjoyed was Me Before You starring Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke (based off a book by jojo Moyes),I loved it and I probably watched it like 6 times.The plot completes itself and makes the movie stand alone and I definitely recommend it.
