Writer of the book and whether its interesting.

I have watched the movie THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US by Idris Elba and I have also had that there is a novel about it. My question therefore is if the novel resembles the movie and if so how interesting is it because I would love to read the book too. Thanks in advance.
