I am a book first girl. I really think that the book is always better than the movie that producers really change with the plot. However, after reading the book it really interests me to watch the movie and to visualise the characters.

Reading a book first lets your mind narrate the story based on its own imagination, which is kind of a reason why i love reading a book in the first place. Secondly, the story line and the narrative is usually manipulated in a movie for viewers preference and looses its authenticity.

I usually try to read the book first before I see the movie, but only if I think I am going to see the movie.

I prefer to watch it first because it's probably different from the book and it's short so I can adapt the characters in the movie to the book in my mind.

I will always read the book first. Even though I watch the movie first it won't satisify me as much as book.

I would read the books first. The truth is even when the movie is awesome, they are obviously going to cut a few scenes from the book due to time concerns. And secondly, books have a deeper perspective of the characters which the movies cannot. So definitely the books.

Always book first the movie just ruins it. Plus most of the time the movie is not even worth watching after you have read the book

Book first. Any given day. You can imagine the characters and places on your own that way. Without outer interference.

For me, always read the book first. Movies are not usually played as how it was written in the books. Plus, you'll get a deeper understanding of the characters and story if you read the book first.
Stay safe! Sending hugs

Book first, it gives more room for imagination and interpretation.

I was a book first person for a while, but lately I've been fond of the movie first approach, as long as it's not a wildly different adaptation like the infamous World War Z and such.

Why this approach is fun for me is that it's like watching the story first, and then when you wish to have more of it after it's over, you get to relive it in an expanded way. It's the story you liked so much, now amplified to 11! So, if you loved the characters and setting, get ready to get immersed in it all again in a more complete way.

I would read the book first because that is where you get the original setting

Book first though I usually always have read books long before movies are made about them. This is if I am remembering things right.
