Stillwater (Jack McBride #1) by Melissa Lenhardt is a good one I can recommend.

You might like to try Winter in Madrid by C.J. Sansom. Sansom's better known for historical detective stories set in Tudor times, but this one is set in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War.

Another possibility is Fatherland by Robert Harris, another well-known historical novelist, but this book is set in a world in which Germany won WW2. In a sense, much of the mystery isn't really a mystery to us (I can't explain that without spoilers) but the process by which it is unravelled is fascinating.

You can also try the anthology gathers mystery and crime stories by early and mid-20th century writers like Rudolph Fisher, Ann Petry and Pauline E. Hopkins
