Definitely Harry Potter and the Hunger Games, but my less common favorites are All The Light We Cannot See and I’ll Give You The Sun.

When I was a teen I really enjoyed books by Dee Henderson. The O’Malley Series is my favorite. It’s about 7 adopted siblings and they’re all in forensics, investigators, fireman, etc... service people. I really loved it and they’re clean as well.

I really think we should use the teenage years to read some solid literature since that is the period we form most of our tastes in. I would recommend some classics, such as:
Kafka - I really enjoyed The Trial in highschool
George Orwell- 1984
Lev Tolstoi- Anna Karenina

I recently read throne of glass. I’m a bit young so it was slightly “don’t read that bit” but the plot is amazing and I love it. It’s a series btw. There’s also Simon vs the Homo sapiens agenda and books by kaz Delaney are good if u don’t mind cheesy romances

I read them as an adult, but I think a lot of teens would like Neil Gaiman's novels, especially The Graveyard Book, Stardust, and Neverwhere.

I think ‘Girl With All The Gifts’ by M. R. Carey would be a good shout. It was recently made into a film but the book, as usual, is much better and delves much deeper into the world of the story.
I didn’t initially want to read it because I heard it was a zombie book and I’m a bit bored of zombies by this point. However, it plays around with the genre a lot and has a brilliant twist. Really took me by surprise.

Yes, definitely these two! Rainbow Rowell’s stories are super relatable to teens, and the Percy Jackson series is so much fun.

Yes, I read and enjoyed 1984 and Anna Karenina as a teen, but have not read The Trial.

Personally, I think it’s important for teens to read a book like “13 reasons why” by Jay Asher or “Speak” by Laurie Halsie Anderson.
They’re books that meant a great deal to me in my teen years.
