Well, I loved "The Ring: The Last Knight Templar's Inheritance" by Jorge Molist. It has both love and adventure, and takes place in Barcelona! I'd say it is perfect for summer beach read.

You should give Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore a go. However, it is not necessarily an easy lecture.
