I have found that many of the books I’ve read here so far are quite different than the ones you can pick up at a bookstore. What is the best book you’ve read since joined online book club? Why is it your favorite? Why do you recommend others read it?

I really enjoyed reading and reviewing Insectual by Barbara Sala. It's a great introspective, honest book that delves into the mind of a woman with deep-rooted issues that she goes to therapy for, finding out shocking things about her childhood in the process. It had really lovely writing and a vivid setting spanning multiple countries. I loved how much the author put herself in it, it must have been so difficult to write a book like this.

The book I am currently reading, GRINGO: MY LIFE ON THE EDGE AS AN INTERNATIONAL FUGITIVE by Dan “Tito” Davis. I am stuck by it all the time.
