Modernist books with a teenage protagonist

Post by Gui_Stripy »

I'd like something with a flow of consciousness, like some things from James Joyce and the Beatniks, kind of surreal and sensorial, crazy, strange but heartwarming at the same time, it could be coming of age, I liked the "Portrait of an artist as a young man" but I would prefer something without this religious theme that this book has.
I loved Demian by Hermann Hesse
