Book Assignments

Post by JG_theBrunette »

Hi! :wine:
Do you remember what book assignments you had during middle school or high school?
I'm curious what good books did teachers attempt to have their students read..

For me, I recall the following (not in any particular order);
1) Of Mice in Men
2) 1984
3) The Great Gatsby
4) The Tale of Two Cities
5) Farenheit 451
6) The Catcher in the Rye
7) Romeo and Juliet
...I can't remember which other books.

I have added all of these to my re-do list. As I restart my journey of reading, I wanted to start with a few familiar goodies.

Thank you in advance for sharing what you recollect! :-D

I remember:

1] Romeo and Juliet
2] And Then There Were None
3]1984
4] Lord Of The Flies
5] Outsiders
6] Where the Red Fern Grows
7] Tuck Everlasting

I'm sure there were more, but it has been a great amount of time since then.

I remember reading Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Fahrenheit 451, Delirium, The Devil's Arithmetic, Life of Pi, The Outsiders, In Cold Blood, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I probably forgot a few, though.

Just recently, I have seen some teachers use Life of Pi. The kids really enjoyed that one, and so did I. I remember:
Lord of the Flies
When the Legends Die
The Outsiders
King Lear
Where the Red Fern Grows
