A brand new genre

I was recently given a reading challenge that has left me stumped. It is this: "Read a book in a genre you've never read before."
I have read pieces in all of the literary genres I can think of; historical fiction, education, sci-fi, erotica, classical, satire, reference, religion, YA, poetry, etc.
I know there must be a genre with which I am unfamiliar, and I hope my fellow bibliophiles can come to my aid with as many little-known genres as they can name, along with recommendations or examples. :techie-studyingbrown:

Hmm. What about subgenres? Dystopian, fantasy, paranormal romance, self-help, horror, women's fiction, graphic novel... Here, try this:

Thank you! This looks to be a great article. I can't wait to choose the strangest subgenre I can find!!

I haven’t read it yet, but I put Strange Pictures by Uketsu on my to read list. It’s a horror novel, but it’s supposed to be partially told through pictures. It sounds pretty unique!
