Have you checked out Margaret Ogola, particularly The River and The Source. The book has some of the strongest female characters I've read.

There is a book called The girl with the Louding voice by Abi Daré that is extremely powerful and engaging to read. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a fantastic writer of both fiction and nonfiction. I think her novel Purple Hibiscus might be one of my favorite books ever.

One African feminist I have enjoyed and followed is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. You won't go wrong with her book such as
Americana
Purple Hibiscus
Half of a yellow Sun
Notes on Grief
We should All Be Feminists
